I’m a graduate from the University of Technology Sydney (Australia) with a Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and from SUNY-Binghamton (USA) a Bachelor of Arts (double major in English Literature & Rhetoric, and Theatre).
I’ve more than 22 years of experience in directing and producing factual television programmes, online media and in travel writing (byline: Leong Hon Yuen).
I’ve travelled extensively for work, filming in Malaysia and to various parts of mainland Asia and the European continent on travel, lifestyle, culture, cuisine, 4X4 adventures and wildlife.
In 2012, I was one of 15 European and Asian directors selected for Crossing Borders – the Eurasia-Pacific Documentary Training at Paju Book City, South Korea.
I continue to produce, direct, write and manage/fix local and regional productions for production houses, broadcasters, media agencies as well as content production for publishers.
